White LED + Customized Light-Receiving Element
Photoelectric sensors that utilize traditional red LEDs are confined to the red wavelength range, thus only allowing for the differentiation of light intensity variations.
The LR-W series adopts a “white LED” light source, which accommodates the entire spectrum of visible wavelengths. Moreover, by integrating a “customized light-receiving element,” it is capable of acquiring color information (the distribution of light intensity across different wavelengths).
By leveraging the combination of a white LED and a customized light-receiving element, detection can be tailored to the target object’s appearance (color), enabling the precise capture of even minute color disparities. Furthermore, as detection is based on appearance (color), it exhibits robustness against variations in tilting or distance.
500,000-Fold Ultra-High-Definition Dynamic Range
When detecting dark workpieces, a distinct and luminous light spot is employed. Conversely, for light-colored workpieces, the emitted light power is automatically modulated to prevent the received light intensity from reaching saturation levels.
This dynamic range spans an impressive 500,000-fold adjustment. Workpieces with low light intensity can be reliably detected using elevated power levels, while workpieces susceptible to light saturation have their emitted power levels regulated accordingly.
The system supports a diverse array of workpiece colors and effectively tracks changes in distance and tilting. The efficacy of light power control is optimized when the response time exceeds 10 ms.
